At JMW, we offer a full line of metal fabrication products and services to serve the construction industry. We can fabricate a wide variety of metal products that feature innovative coatings to meet architectural specifications and General Contractor timelines.

Field Crews

We deploy field crews of three to five person team. All of our staff is quite good at installations since we test everything by assembling it in house before shipment, which makes it simply a logistical matter of getting some of our crew to the designated location.

Shop Drawings:

JMW will provide a conceptual Shop Drawings to ensure our initial design aligns with your vision. Once we have approval we will field-measure the installation area and then continue to refine the design to a final Shop Drawing. This Shop Drawing will be the formal drawing submittal for review and approval by the GC, Owner, and Design Professionals overseeing the work.

Field Measuring

On all jobs, including those that use one of our installation crews, we’re meticulous about marking each piece and subassembly so that the fit-up is clear to anyone assembling one of our custom metal fabrication projects on site. This is even more critical, of course, for the jobs that we don’t install ourselves — especially some of the more complex metal fabrication projects such as spiral stairs.

  • Stairs

    Fireplaces

    Chimneys

    Countertops

    Awnings

    Soffits

    Window fenestration

    Guardrails and handrails

    Cladding and paneling

    Bar cabinets and shelving

    Signage

    Firepits

    Furniture

    Planters

    Benches

  • Generally, we try to limit structural installation jobs to within 200 miles of our shop in Bozeman, Montana.

  • Metal scopes are rigid and unforgiving, just like glass, and highlight sub par framing by others. If the following framing tolerances are held, JMW can ensure a successful installation.

If these tolerances are not held, the framing will need to be reframed or JMW will need to submit a Change Order to adjust framing at a Time and Materials rate.

The following are guidelines, but specific scopes may require tighter tolerances:

    • Maximum out-of-level: +/- 1/8” over 8 feet

    • Maximum out-of-square: +/- 1/16” over 8 feet

    • Maximum out-of-plumb: +/- 1/8” over 8 feet

    • Maximum out-of-flush (variance on sheathing): +/- 1/8” over 10 square feet

If you’re in our neck of the woods and you’ve got a custom metal fabrication project that also requires installation, we’ll be more than happy to oblige.
